Most of our employees work in farming and grading positions, which is the core of our business: growing over 80 rose varieties. This is where the roses are planted, nourished and cultivated. Picking, bundling and packing activities are carried out every day while preparing around 2 to 4 million roses for export.

I started working at Sher in 2014.
Please describe your career path
I started as a general worker in the greenhouse where my task was to harvest roses. After 3 years I got a promotion and became a supervisor in the trial house.
Why do you like to work for Sher Ethiopia?
The reason I work in Sher Ethiopia is that I am getting a fair income that enables me to help myself and my family. Compared to other companies in the area, Sher has benefits packages, for example, School & Hospital and also using technologies like IPM in the farm which helps us to acquire new knowledge while working in Sher.

I was invited by one of my friends who already worked here. The company treats us well. There is no stress while working in the greenhouses. And they care about the workers’ safety, for instance, we all have medical insurance etc. That is why I have chosen to work at Sher Ethiopia.
