At Sher Ethiopia we grow roses. Approximately 12,500 employees grow, harvest, grade and pack roses at three farms. Between 2.5 and 4 million roses are processed and transported to the airport in Addis Ababa every day, from where they are flown to Europe for further distribution. This makes us the largest rose grower in the world and the biggest supplier of roses in Europe.
Sher Ethiopia is Carbon Neutral for the second year!
In recent years, Carbon Neutrality has been one of the environmental objectives of Sher Ethiopia. We are very proud to announce that we have achieved the Carbon Neutral Status for the second year in a row. This means that our carbon footprint (scope 1, 2 and 3) for the production, transportation and sales of our roses is neutral.
Integrated Pest Management
Diseases and pests are inevitable when growing roses. However, how these diseases and pests are controlled is not inevitable. Sher Ethiopia maximizes the use of biological and non-chemical pest control methods.
